Two guys from the Forth had a week in El Medano before Xmas, not the usual NW trades, more S or SW winds with cloud and rain. But it was 20C!

Now son Rob wants to go, we have booked an appt 23 Feb to 9 March and OTC will do pay as you sail. Flyglobespan has gone down but Ryanair now fly from Edinburgh, price is £152 with a case.

I remember a crowd of you guys down there was it 2 or 3 years ago?

A chance to try the 2010 kit, multifin waveboards featuring!

Cheers Dave Main

Dave I have been talking with Rich and might look to get over to El Med, but I'm away in February. May would be a better option for me and Rich has leave in May. Flights at moment are all in execess of £200. Do you think they will drop any further?

Ryanair seem to be cheaper the earlier you book, and they either add on charges or not depending on something I know not what! Then paying with CC is £5 each leg and a prebooked case £15 each leg.

I have looked at their website for examples.

Edinburgh flights are 2X week cheaper on tuesday. 11 may to 25 may is £168 with case. East Midlands has flights 3X week, cheaper on sunday. 9 may to 23 may is £140 with case.

These are all cheaper than Flyglobespan 2 years ago!

Flying to Tenerife in a week, dates don't seem to suite sailers from the Forth.  Booked 2 bed appt, reasonable rates, spaces for like minded guys (or gals)!

The forcasts havnt returned to the usual NE winds. Self and wife have just returned from 10 days in Madeira. The wettest and biggest waves in 8 years! Although pretty good all round.

Good work Dave! Would love to come but bang in the middle of my badminton coaching course - typical!

Good to hear the OTC is back open anyway  Sounds like you guys will have a blast (provided the wind arrives).

On a seperate note, we should have some multi-fin wave boards to test up here sometime in April, including the much publicised Quatro Quad, alongside twinsers from Goya and Quatro.

It would be great to organise some foreign windsurfing trips looking forward. If you visit the new site www.boardskillz.co.uk you'll see we're trying to pull together a couple of trips outside of the main tourist seasons.

We're not looking to pull anything together until Oct/Nov now, but the intention would be to hit Dahab when Bubble & Colin are out there too. We also have some contacts at Angulo on Sal for our planned Cape Verde trip, although you'll need to be 'competent' in the waves for that trip.

I'll think of you basking in the UV while I'm paddle boarding in 2 degrees
